CMHS presents "Minnetonka in the 1800s," a program exploring the area’s history from its deep Dakota and Ojibwe roots to the arrival of European settlers along Minnehaha Creek and Lake Minnetonka. The presentation will highlight the early development of the community, including the history of Minnetonka Mills, and the story of the Charles Burwell family, whose home remains an important historic landmark in Minnetonka today.
The program will be presented by Bill Jepson, a local Minnetonka historian and City of Minnetonka Historical Society (CMHS) board member who has spent many years researching and sharing the community’s history.
